"Have a Geek [Girlfriend]? Think Star Wars"
May 29th 2009 00:53
Because boys need more help with this sort of thing.
Cult Fiction posted some time ago a link to a list entitled: "Have a Geek Boyfriend? Think Star Wars."
But what about the ladies? While the items on the list are pretty awesome, and while I'm sure you could make the above list gender-unspecific, I thought I'd throw together a likewise brief list, even though it's not my birthday.
1. The epic John Williams complete soundtrack. It's big and beautiful and it's a box set. Everyone likes getting box sets. Everyone.
2. X-Wing Squadron Omnibus Vols. 1-3. Ladies might love Cool James but they swoon for a pilot. It boils down to two words: Wedge Antilles.
3. Tiny spacecraft. Girls love tiny things, like babies and puppies and miniature porcelain figures and, even, you. French artist Hubert de Lartigue has made these exquisite (how many times do you give her something exquisite?) X-Wings and Millenium Falcons using Paris Metroy tickets and an Exacto knife. As long as you don't hurt yourself doing it, it's ideal, a gift from the heart because you made it yourself! Girls love that, too.

4. R2D2 soy sauce bottles. Girls like R2D2. Girls like to cook. Soy sauce is used in cooking. HOW IS THIS NOT PERFECT?
